Andrea Detweiler

Andrea Detweiler CPHC Project Designer

Originally from Indiana, Andrea earned a Master’s of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon. At Grouparchitect, she approaches projects with the intention to turn “housing” into “home.” Not too long out of academia to lose her idealistic expectations for the profession of architecture, she is also passionate about sustainability. Ultimately, she plans to use her knowledge of passive environmental strategies and energy analysis to take on the massive carbon footprint of housing in the U.S. Her interest in architecture and its environmental impacts stemmed in part from a summer spent doing construction work on impoverished homes in Appalachia. Outside the office, Andrea burns excess creative energy by playing guitar, cooking French food, and making fanciful Halloween costumes.
