Joe O’Toole AIA Project Architect
Joe was born in West Virginia, raised in North and South Carolina, and now lives in Seattle after attending Savannah College of Art and Design. Much of his professional experience is in commercial, cultural, mixed use, and adaptive reuse single and multifamily family housing. Growing up in the south, the appreciation of existing buildings and their value have had a lasting effect and shows in the projects he has been a part of. Joe continues to explore the extraordinary possibilities of existing buildings and introducing new uses to extend their lives. Of particular interest is the juxtaposition of new building elements and systems into existing building fabric, and how the performance of an old building can be upgraded to modern standards. When not focusing on buildings, Joe enjoys travel, his family and pets, painting, and trail hiking in the Northwest.
