Clyde Hill – Construction Update – May
May was a great month at the Clyde Hill Residence job site. The contractors have completed the installation of exterior wood siding, cement board panels, and trim giving the exterior of the home a completely new design aesthetic. The clear finished wood siding emphasizes the horizontality of the home and provides a material connection to the landscape of the lot.
The full impact of the new redesigned entryway is starting to be felt with the wood siding balancing the large floor to ceiling windows and compliments the modern approach into the home.
The next stages for the exterior of the home include painting the cement board panels, window and door trim, and updating the landscaping. An equal emphasis has also been focused on the interior spaces during May.
Completed interior inspections have allowed gypsum board to cover all the framing and have clearly defined the interior spaces. The abundance of light in all of the rooms from larger windows will be greatly appreciated in the more grey months of winter.
Indoor and outdoor spaces will come together and be used as a singular space with the operable glass wall able to fully open onto the large patio outside. The wooden windows throughout the home will add an organic detail to the interior and add a material connection with the exterior wood siding.
Exposed wood structure in the living and dining rooms allow for a large vaulted ceiling and full natural light coverage into both rooms.
As work transitions to finishes and details we are looking forward to the bamboo flooring, custom cabinetry and interior trim details to tie everything together. Stay tuned for another update in June and for more on the Clyde Hill Residence click here
