LIV Apartments – Construction Update – June 2014
The month of June brought many advances to the LIV Apartments job site. The most notable progress coming as the south building wood framing commenced. With the previous experience of framing the west building the crews have picked up the pace and are moving very quickly with installing the panelized framing sections.Wood framing for the south building commenced, and reached to level 6 before the end of the month. As progress continues vertically, other building elements are added such as the internal stairs, shafts, and steel framed unit balconies. The west building also maintained progress with framing during June and actually “topped out” by reaching the full design height. With wood framing largely complete for the west building the progress shifts towards waterproofing, adding windows and roofing, and the exterior rain screen cladding will be added next.In portions of the west building the windows have been installed and the delicate process of sealing the envelope has begun. In this picture you see the building wrap with taped seams, the window pan, and the furring strips to accept the rain screen cladding. The sealing of the west building will continue as the contractors rush to maximize time during the warm dry weather of the summer.
Stay tuned as progress will continue on the south building framing, the sealing of the west building, and the start of wood framing on the north building.
