LIV Apartments – Construction Update Mid April 2015
The LIV Apartments is an ongoing multi-family project in Bellevue. This month the landscape components are starting to take form. The main plaza has corten steel planters lining the pedestrian path towards the main entry. The corten steel planters are a reoccurring element throughout the public gathering areas. The upper deck can be accessed from the main entry plaza through the prominent elevator, located to the left in the image above. The elevator opens onto more staggered corten steel planters. There are CMU blocks mortared and placed to create semi-private outdoor areas for the lower units. The team is hard at work planting vegetation. The planters on the decks and plaza are made from a variety of materials: CMU blocks, cast in place concrete, and corten steel. The variance in material shares a similar color scheme to the LIV Apartment Buildings. The natural and painted colors bring a cohesive arrangement to the open outdoor spaces. There are degrees of outdoor spaces provided by the LIV Apartment complex. There are the public spaces at the main entrance, and each building at least one roof deck and most of the units have a balcony. The corner units have a wraparound balcony to maximize the occupants’ private outdoor space.
Stay tuned as progress on the LIV Apartments interior finishes.
