Sibling House Update – 2015
Good news for Sibling House in 2015! Sibling House is a network of homes that keep siblings together while in foster care and they have grown recently to include 256 homes totaling 752 children and they continue to grow every day. Their annual fundraising event is coming up on March 21st of this year at the Washington Athletic Club with the theme “Alice in Wonderland”. It’s always a great time for all and such a wonderful way to help those in need. You can attend by reserving your spot at their organizations’ website.
Grouparchitect has been supporting Sibling House families since 2009 by donating design services to assess housing and storage needs and recommending economically-friendly solutions to the unique housing needs of the network homes and their foster children. In many cases, we assist in architectural design and building permit support on an as-needed basis. These services have ranged from simple storage and laundry room reorganizations to better utilize the available space for three new children to home remodeling to accommodate large sibling groups and the Washington State requirements for bedroom areas and distribution.
