Sunset Hill Remodel

Seattle, WA

A remodel and second story addition to a small home in Ballard’s Sunset Hill neighborhood. Adding a second story and moving the bedrooms to the new upper level allowed a larger open main floor with a larger kitchen that opens out to a deck that steps down into the rear yard. The basement stairway was relocated from the center of the house to a small addition at the northwest corner of the house allowing the kitchen to also open up to the living room. A simple shed roof orientated to the south allows for future photovoltaic roof panels. Siding is a mix of fiber cement lap siding and cedar siding.
