Project Architect / Senior Architectural Designer — Residential + Multifamily
Full-time  |  Seattle, South Lake Union  |  In-office / Hybrid: 3+ days in office  |  Target start: November 2026

Grouparchitect is looking for an experienced residential architect or designer who wants more than a narrowly defined production role. For more than 20 years we’ve designed custom homes, townhomes, cottage communities, ADUs, and multifamily and mixed-use buildings across the Puget Sound region. In 2026 we were recognized with a Sunset Western Home & Design Award and Best of Houzz. Washington’s middle-housing reforms have given us a steady pipeline of townhome, rowhome and cottage work.

You’ll work directly with principals, clients, consultants and contractors, with meaningful responsibility from design through construction. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of outcomes, is exceptionally capable in Revit, and wants responsibility to grow faster than their job title. For the right person, this role can develop into project leadership, client leadership, firm leadership and, over time, participation in ownership. What you’ll do

• Lead single-family, townhome, middle housing, and multifamily projects from schematic design through construction administration
• Produce and manage permit and construction document sets in Revit
• Guide projects through Seattle and Eastside jurisdiction permitting, including design review
• Coordinate consultants and serve as a day-to-day contact for clients and contractors
• Mentor junior staff and help shape firm standards and templates

What you bring

• 5 years minimum experience; 7–10+ years preferred
• Significant single-family and/or multifamily experience
• Expert Revit skills; working proficiency in AutoCAD
• Working knowledge of current IBC, IRC and ANSI A117.1
• Preferred: SketchUp, InDesign, Photoshop, and rendering or illustration experience
• Architectural license preferred. Licensed candidates will be hired as Project Architect; unlicensed candidates as Senior Architectural Designer.

Compensation
Base salary: $85,000–$130,000, depending on experience and licensure. We add a performance bonus tied to project profitability, billable hours above target, and new client development, with meaningful upside for people who take on more responsibility. Workload follows project deadlines, and people who invest more share directly in the results.
