Clyde Hill – Construction Update – July

The efforts for completing the Clyde Hill Residence renovation have shifted to the interior during the month of July as painting, staining, and finishing details are completed.

construction-update, interior-finishes, materials-2, project-updates, quartzite, residentialThe light finish of the cabinetry, along with the white paint and abundance of windows throughout the house keeps the home bright and cheerful during all hours of the day.  Plumbing fixtures, including the Delta Trinsic kitchen faucet have been installed, and the tile backsplashes are now installed.

Clyde Hill Residence - Full interior and exterior renovationThe casework and PentalQuartz counter tops throughout the house has been installed.  The wet bar nook fits nicely between the kitchen and living rooms and shares the same finish details as the rest of the kitchen.

construction-update, interior-finishes, materials-2, project-updates, quartzite, residentialThe bathrooms are nearing completion after the installation of fixtures, glass shower surrounds, and trim.  This free standing Kohler Sunstruck tub is a feature alongside the previously featured seamless entry shower in the past blog update.  The free standing nature of this tub allows the tile of the bathroom to wrap around, emphasizing the size of the bathroom.

construction-update, interior-finishes, materials-2, project-updates, quartzite, residentialElsewhere in the home, the painting crew has been working to finish staining the base, casing trim, and feature beams in the living room.  The contrast of colors accentuates the structural beams, as well as drawing attention to other wood details and trim throughout the house.

Clyde Hill Residence - Full interior and exterior renovationThe transition between the levels of the house allowed for a design opportunity through the use of a custom stainless steel and maple railing system.  While allowing light to flood both levels, this railing uses horizontal balusters and concealed fasteners.  Capping the railing is the wooden handrail that will be stained to match the rest of the wood detailing throughout the house.

construction-update, interior-finishes, materials-2, project-updates, quartzite, residentialAs most of the work progresses with the final touches and details of the interior, the entry approach has also received some attention.  A bubbling stone fountain surrounded by river rock has been installed adjacent to the entry.  A new pathway and new matching landscape will present the home to people as they approach the newly built entryway and enter into this light and open modern home.
