The Mercantile will be a seven story multifamily apartment building.  The demolition phase has begun in the month of October.  The original building, the Cooperative Mercantile Company, is an unreinforced masonry structure.  The demolition team has been working to preserve the existing brick façade, which will be incorporated into the new design.  This interior remodel united adjacent dining and kitchen spaces while developing the home's existing traditional aesthetic decor. Design accents included new custom cabinets and a unified ceiling soffit connecting the dining and kitchen spaces. New lighting fixtures throughout were added to create a cohesive warm ambiance. Capitol Hill Apartments – Construction Update – October

The Capitol Hill Apartments construction team has completed the exterior framing.  Pedestrians are now able to visualize the upcoming structure.  The building’s penthouse level butterfly roof adds a recognizable angular skyline to the neighborhood.The structure is located atop a hill which allows for sweeping views out towards Lake Washington, the Cascade Mountains, and the local territory.
