Adoration House Opening Event

Adoration House and Ancient Gate Coffee Co. officially opened to family and friends at a private open house event last night in the University District. Built by BMDC, this project features a large coffee shop with custom roasted coffees, a large prayer and event room with multimedia capabilities, and extensive offices, classrooms, and recording facilities. Many thanks to AIA Seattle for hosting a continuing education seminar last month which featured multiple planning managers from Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue, and Shoreline talking about their cities and how they’re approaching the middle housing code changes. 11th Avenue Cottages Break Ground in Kirkland

Construction began this week on our first cottage housing project in Kirkland. Located a few blocks from downtown Kirkland, the 11th Avenue Cottages are creating two new homes and remodeling a third on an existing site.  Kirkland’s cottage housing allowances already largely follow the forthcoming middle housing code changes and intent, so Grouparchitect for one is anxious to see where the final code language falls to see what’s next in the city for higher density residential projects like this one.    ...
